On joining Analysis Group
My first real exposure to Analysis Group was through one of my professors at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where I was pursuing my MBA. Ray Ball is an expert affiliated with Analysis Group who works on a lot of projects with the firm. The job description seemed to fit well with my interests and when an opportunity came to interview, I was convinced Analysis Group would be a great choice. The company hit all the requirements I had for starting my post-MBA career.
What I work on
My MBA degree concentrations mirror the type of work I do each day: finance and strategy. An interesting case I'm currently working on involves investigating claims of securities market manipulation concerning a multinational energy firm. I also have worked on engagements involving antitrust, bankruptcy restructuring, cost of capital, executive compensation, securities litigation, and patent infringement.
Collaborating with academic affiliates
I've learned a lot working with our affiliated experts. Doing so allows me to keep abreast with economic and financial research, which, for me, has been a big advantage to working in this industry. I often consult academic textbooks and journals, which is like an ongoing continuation of my education. I enjoy that about my work.
When not in the office...
When I'm outside of the office, I spend the majority of my time with my wife and our two young kids. Also, I’m a squash player and a huge news junkie. I consider The Economist to be a good friend.
