Microsoft: General Oversight and Coordination
Analysis Group led the team providing economic support in over 140 private state and federal overcharge class actions, which followed the Department of Justice litigation with Microsoft. We were able to quickly assemble highly specialized expert resources, from both our professional staff and our network of academic experts, with knowledge specific to each aspect of the case.
Martha Samuelson
President and CEO, Boston
As the project leader, I provided overall strategic direction for our analyses of the economic and legal issues involved. My role involved day-to-day client contact with senior staff at Microsoft and outside counsel, and close contact with our academic experts. I was very active in all phases of the project, and supported each of the experts during discovery and deposition preparation.
Almudena Arcelus
Principal, Boston
My role involved overall project management and coordination across all of the cases. These cases involved Analysis Group staff in Boston, Los Angeles, Menlo Park, and Washington, D.C. I acted as liaison among the project leader and counsel and the various case team managers to provide consistency in our approach. To manage this project successfully, I had to develop a thorough understanding of the technology and the economics of the products at issue. I also worked closely with each case manager to share this information effectively with all team members.
Rebecca Kirk Fair
Managing Principal, Boston
I served in a managerial and consulting role across many different projects. I participated in all stages of the case, from identification of experts to settlement issues. In addition, I served as the case manager, directing and participating in quantitative analyses of sales data and qualitative research for our expert.
