Vident v. Dentsply International
Rival manufacturers of artificial teeth for the dental industry have settled their lawsuit following delivery of an expert report and deposition testimony by Analysis Group Affiliate Robert A. Sherwin. In Vident v. Dentsply International, Vident charged Dentsply with violating Section 2 of The Sherman Antitrust Act by engaging in exclusive dealing with its distributors. The lawsuit followed an earlier case brought against Dentsply on similar grounds by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Vident counsel Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe retained Analysis Group to determine the extent of financial harm Vident incurred as a result of Dentsply's actions. Mr. Sherwin led a team including Vice President Stanley I. Ornstein in conducting damages analyses and evaluating the damages estimates submitted by Dentsply's expert.
