Summary of Experience:
David Denis’ research examines corporate governance, corporate financial policies, corporate organizational structure, corporate valuation, and entrepreneurial finance. He teaches courses on Corporate Financial Management and Venture Capital & Investment Banking in Purdue’s M.B.A., Ph.D, and Executive Education Programs. He has also consulted extensively with private companies, law firms, and government agencies on various aspects of financial markets and securities including stock prices, corporate valuation, credit ratings, corporate governance, capital acquisition, executive compensation, mortgage backed securities (MBSs), and collateralized mortgage obligations (CMOs).
Professor Denis is the author of over 40 published articles in leading peer-reviewed journals. He has also co-edited a book on corporate restructuring. He currently serves as a Co-Editor of the Journal of Corporate Finance and as Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Research, the Financial Review, Annals of Finance, and the Journal of Applied Finance. He served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Finance from 2001 to 2003. Professor Denis was named a University Faculty Scholar at Purdue in 2000 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Financial Management Association International.
