Summary of Experience

Professor Bebchuk's main areas of research are corporate governance, law and finance, and law and economics. He has written more than 70 academic articles on a wide range of issues in these areas, and with Jesse Fried, he coauthored  the widely acclaimed book, Pay without Performance: the Unfulfilled Promise of Executive Compensation. His writing has been published in leading law journals, including the Harvard Law Review and the Yale Law Journal; leading finance journals, including the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics; and leading economics journals, including the Quarterly Journal of Economics and the Rand Journal of Economics. His op-ed pieces have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the Financial Times. Professor Bebchuk is the founding director of the SSRN Corporate Governance Network; a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research; and an inaugural fellow of the European Corporate Governance Network.
