Summary of Experience

Dr. Kim is an expert in corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions. He has explored issues related to the determination of government instrumentality in matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He currently serves on the boards of two closed-end mutual funds managed by Nomura and on the board of Korea Telecom, where he is the non-executive chairman of the board. Dr. Kim also has experience in sovereign debt renegotiations, having served as the advisor to the Korean government's team to renegotiate its foreign debt obligations with international bankers in 1998. He is an experienced board director and has served on the boards of Hana Bank, Korea Investment Company, POSCO, and Mutual Savings Bank in Michigan. He is a frequently cited contributor to the field of financial economics, has published more than 60 scholarly works, and has served on the editorial boards of numerous academic journals, including as associate editor of the Journal of Finance. Dr. Kim's recent research has focused on the role of the board of directors and senior executive officers.
