Summary of Experience

Mr. Coelho has performed damages analyses, conducted economic impact studies, managed large case teams, and supported academic experts in a number of complex engagements in the finance, telecommunications, and energy sectors. He specializes in statistical and econometric analysis of large data sets and has benchmarked loan performance and securities prices in several high-profile mortgage-backed securities litigations. Mr. Coelho has also undertaken event studies and calculated damages to shareholders in multiple finance-related litigations. In addition, he has managed research teams in various types of litigation, particularly involving the wireless industry, where his work has included the analysis of damages due to a network blackout in France. In Broadcom Corp. v. Qualcomm Inc., Mr. Coelho analyzed the economic impact of an International Trade Commission’s import exclusion order of handset devices that allegedly infringed Broadcom’s patent. He has also provided analytical support in several electric utility rate cases, modeling regional markets in the United States and assessing market concentration and power.
