Summary of Experience:
Mr. Gustafson applies his expertise in economics, econometrics, and modeling to litigation, complex business issues, and analysis of public policy issues. He has worked extensively in the areas of insurance, health care, intellectual property, employment, and finance. In addition, he has extensive experience assembling and analyzing large, proprietary data sets.
Mr. Gustafson's recent work includes contributing to the California State Auditor's review of CalPERS' decision to implement an exclusive provider network for CalPERS Blue Shield members; coauthoring an analysis of California’s Proposition 79 addressing prescription drug discounts; and estimating reasonable royalty damages in the biotech, digital media, consumer products, and tool rental industries. Most recently, he has coauthored a paper investigating the post-stop actions taken by officers of the Los Angeles Police Department to determine if the observed behavior was consistent with racial profiling.
