Analysis Group has provided analyses in support of electric supplier applications for Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approval to begin or continue making wholesale sales of electricity at market-based rates. While these studies initially rely on “indicative screens” to help determine whether an applicant possesses horizontal market power, in some instances delivered price test and additional analyses have been required.
Through conducting competitive studies and providing expert testimony, we have developed extensive knowledge of competitive conditions in electricity markets throughout the U.S. along with the detailed data required to perform the analyses.
Analysis Group consultants have testified on behalf of numerous major electricity suppliers including Ameren, FirstEnergy, Idaho Power, MidAmerican Energy, PacifiCorp, PSEG, and Southern Company as well as many individual merchant generators and investment funds owning electric generation capacity.
