Senior Advisor Susan Tierney Receives C3E Lifetime Achievement Award for Accomplishments in Clean Energy

Senior Advisor Susan Tierney received the 2014 Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual C3E Women in Clean Energy Symposium on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Tierney is being honored, along with eight mid-career women, for her work and accomplishments in the advancement of clean energy. Dr. Tierney was introduced at the event by her colleague, Vice President Andrea Okie.

The U.S. C3E organization, led by the U.S. Department of Energy and the MIT Energy Initiative, is an effort to advance the careers and leadership of professional women in the field of clean energy. The program is part of the international C3E initiative within the 23-government Clean Energy Ministerial framework. Dr. Tierney also received the 2013 Leadership Award from New England Women in Energy and the Environment, recognizing her professional achievements and the positive example she has set for women in the energy industry.
