Vice President Dov Rothman Coauthors Article on the Merits of Random Selection of Plaintiffs in Mass Tort Litigations

To address the claims of numerous plaintiffs in mass tort litigations, courts have allowed bellwether trials. In a recent article, "Random Selection Is Best For MDL Bellwether Trials" (Law360, October 20, 2014), Vice President Dov Rothman and coauthors Loren Brown and Matthew Holian, partners at DLA Piper, find that random selection is more likely than party selection to yield bellwether plaintiffs whose claims are similar to the remainder of the docket.
