Boston -- Members of Analysis Group's Health Care practice will serve as discussion leaders of an educational symposium and workshop session, and exhibit 24 posters, at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) 20th Annual International Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 16-20, 2015. The firm's significant presence at ISPOR highlights its depth and breadth of experience in outcomes research and reinforces its position as a leader in this field.

The conference theme, "Integrating Big Data, Patient Data, and Cost-Effectiveness into Clinical Practice," underscores the promise and challenges of large data sets and advanced analytics in research, evidence, and drug development for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries.

Highlights of Analysis Group's involvement include:

  • Educational Symposium: Principal Howard Birnbaum will moderate the symposium "Developments in Medical Big Data Research: United States and China" (May 19, Educational Symposium AM), which explores how the rapid adoption of electronic medical record systems and the expansion of health care coverage, combined with burgeoning patient-centric online content, have provided exciting new data sources in the United States and China. Participating in the symposium will be Managing Principals Mei Sheng Duh and Eric Wu, Vice President Lisa Pinheiro, and Nabarun Dasgupta, chief data scientist and co-founder of Epidemico.
  • Workshop Session: Vice President James Signorovitch and Manager Elyse Swallow will participate in the workshop "Indirect Comparisons for Single-Arm Trials or Trials without Common Comparator Arms: What Methods Are Available, How Have They Been Used, and How Can We Evaluate Results?" (May 18, Workshop Session I).

  • Poster Presentations: Analysis Group's Health Care consultants will present 24 posters focused on cost-of-illness, comparative effectiveness, and health care resource utilization studies targeting metastatic breast cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, psoriatic arthritis, chronic hepatitis C, depression, and Down syndrome, among others.
