Summary of Experience:
Professor Westerfield is the former dean of the Marshall School of Business and Professor of Finance and Business Economics. He came to USC from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the finance faculty for 20 years, serving as chairman from 1986 to 1988. His research interests are corporate financial policy, investment management and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and stock market price behavior. He has been a consultant to many corporations, including AT&T and Mobil Oil, as well as to the United Nations and the U.S. departments of Justice and Labor. He is co-author of Corporate Finance (Sixth Edition, 2002), and Essentials of Corporate Finance (Second Edition, 1999), Fundamentals of Corporate Finance (Fifth Edition, 2000), leading textbooks in corporate financial management.
