Dr. Cooper specializes in the design and use of cost management systems. His research and consulting engagements focus on performance management practice, activity-based costing, and strategic alignment. His recent work has focused on interorganizational cost management, performance management practice, and integrating cost management systems throughout a product life cycle. Dr. Cooper is the co-author of Cost & Effect: Using Integrated Systems to Drive Profitability and Performance, which has been widely praised as a reference in the field. He previously served as a professor of management accounting at Goizueta Business School, Emory University, and at Harvard Business School, and is a member of the American Accounting Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
