Summary of Experience:

Steven Shavell has extensive consulting experience in cases involving torts, punitive damages, contractual liability, violations of public law, and class actions. His work spans multiple industries including oil, automobiles, computer hardware and software, pharmaceuticals, and insurance. He has published over 100 articles, mainly in the application of economics to legal issues, and four books. Professor Shavell has been a Guggenheim Fellow, is a member of the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is past president of the American Law and Economics Association. Professor Shavell is co-director of the Program of Law and Economics at the National Bureau of Economic Research and co-editor of the American Law and Economics Review.
