Summary of Experience:
Professor Buchmueller is an expert in health economics and risk management, and has published more than 70 journal articles, reports, popular articles, and working papers on health insurance issues. His specific areas of research include health insurance and public policy with respect to women, children, and the elderly. Professor Buchmueller also has published on health insurance and organized labor, and has conducted extensive research on health care systems outside of the United States.
Professor Buchmueller has received nearly 30 research grants, awards, and fellowships, and is a frequent presenter at conferences and invited seminars. He serves or has served on the editorial boards of Medical Care, the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, the Berkeley Electronic Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, and Inquiry, and has been a reviewer for numerous other reference journals in the fields of economics, health care, and public policy.
