Summary of Experience:

Professor Holder has taught courses in financial accounting and reporting, auditing, and taxation in undergraduate and graduate programs. He has twice been named one of the “Top 100 People” in the accounting profession by Accounting Today and has received the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service Award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”) in 2006.  The award recognizes those individuals whose influence on the accounting profession as a whole is especially notable and is the highest award granted by the AICPA.

Over the course of his career, Professor Holder has served in a number of capacities on governance and standards setting bodies of the accounting profession, including the Board of Directors (Chair of the Audit Committee) of the AICPA, the Accounting Standards Executive Committee (“AcSEC”) of the AICPA, and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (“GASB”). During Congressional hearings leading to the passage of the Sarbanes/Oxley Act of 2002, he was asked to provide testimony about financial accounting and reporting practices to the Congressional Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government-Sponsored Enterprises of the Committee on Financial Services. Professor Holder is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Oklahoma.
