Independent Review of the ICANN Nominating Committee: Assessment Report
Report, January 9, 2018
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) appointed Analysis Group to conduct an independent review of the ICANN Nominating Committee (NomCom). The NomCom is an independent committee tasked with identifying and selecting individuals for ICANN leadership positions. As a part of the review, this assessment report aims to identify – with input from the wider ICANN community and the independent examiner – which areas of the NomCom work well and which may benefit from improvements.
Analysis Group's project team includes Vice President Greg Rafert (who has led several past independent reviews commissioned by ICANN), Manager Andrew Ungerer, and Analysis Group affiliated experts William A. Brown (a professor in the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University) and Mark Engle (a principal with the Association Management Center in Chicago).
By design, this assessment report does not include recommendations. The public will have the opportunity to provide initial feedback and ask questions on the assessment report during a January 18, 2018 webinar hosted by Analysis Group. Recommendations will be included in the final report, expected for publication in June 2018.
