Summary of Experience
For some 30 years, Mr. Foster has primarily been an investment banker, private equity investor and corporate director. He is an authority on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, and governance who is highly experienced on topics including confidentiality agreements, due diligence, deal process, valuation, fairness opinions, special committees, initial public offerings, debt financing, restructurings, corporate acquisitions and sales, and private equity transactions. He has written a number of expert reports and testified in various jurisdictions, including in arbitrations.
Mr. Foster spent more than 10 years in mergers and acquisitions at Lazard, where he was ultimately a managing director; he was also a managing director at Wachovia Securities and Bear Stearns. He gained private equity experience at both Cypress Group and Revolution. Current Capital, where he is managing director, is a private equity investing and management services firm.
Mr. Foster is a director of four public companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange: Berry Plastics, a packing company; Chemtura, a specialty chemicals company; Lear Corporation, an automotive supplier; and Masonite, a building products manufacturer. He is also a director of a number of private companies and a trustee of the New York Power Authority, America's largest state-owned power organization. He is a member of the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a nonprofit, private-public partnership that recruits financial, legal, and regulatory experts to provide assistance to developing and emerging market countries.
