Summary of Experience

Mr. Schappert is an investment management expert with more than 40 years of experience. His expertise spans all facets of the industry, including portfolio management, investment process, sales and marketing, client service and administration, compensation structure, product design and development, and risk management. Mr. Schappert previously served as executive vice chairman and regional head for asset management in the Americas for Credit Suisse. He also served as president and CEO of Federated Investment Advisory Companies, where he was responsible for more than $220 billion in assets under management in 136 mutual and closed-end funds. Previously, he spent 29 years with JP Morgan in a number of different capacities, ranging from trading to portfolio management. During his tenure at the firm, Mr. Schappert was president of JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management; president and CEO of JP Morgan Investment Management (JPMIM), where he was responsible for 13 offices around the world, serving both institutional and high-net-worth clients with $325 billion in assets under management, including a broad set of asset classes; vice chairman of JPMIM, overseeing capital markets research, real estate, oil and gas activities and alternatives; and managing director and head of fixed income products. He is a former trustee and head of the endowment fund at Berkshire School. In addition, he serves as a director of MetLife Series Trusts, Mirae Asset Discovery Funds, Smithfield Trust, the Commonfund, and Calamos Investment Company. He is an advisor to Trilogy Global Advisors.
