Summary of Experience

Dr. Benveniste’s areas of specialization include IPOs, credit scoring, and valuation of subprime loans, portfolios, and securitization. Before retiring from academia, he was a dean and the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Finance at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Earlier in his career, he was a dean of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he also served as the U.S. Bancorp Professor of Finance. He is a former member of the faculties of Boston College, Northwestern University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Rochester. Dr. Benveniste worked as a staff economist for the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he helped develop significant regulatory initiatives such as risk-based capital, which monitors the equity value of commercial banks to protect the deposit insurance system. He has served on the boards of directors of Alliance Data Systems and Rimage Corporation.
