Summary of Experience

Professor Buchmueller is an expert in health economics who has published extensively on issues related to health insurance and health policy. In addition to his research on insurance markets, public programs, and health care reform in the United States, Professor Buchmueller also has conducted research on health care systems outside of the United States. His research has been published in top academic journals, including the American Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, and the Journal of Health Economics. From 2011 to 2012, Professor Buchmueller was the Senior Health Economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He currently serves on the board of directors of the American Society of Health Economists and the editorial board of the American Journal of Health Economics. He has served on the editorial boards of Medical Care, the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, the Berkeley Electronic Journal of Economic Analysis and Policy, and Inquiry.
