Ms. Rutzen consults on securities, finance, and general business litigation matters that involve complex accounting, financial reporting, tax, and corporate governance concepts. She has supported experts analyzing the appropriateness and sufficiency of asset impairments and allowances for uncollectible accounts; the development and application of appropriate accounting policies and internal controls; the propriety of profit figures reported for settlement calculations; adherence to auditing and other professional standards; and the adequacy of due diligence performed by pension fund trustees. Ms. Rutzen’s casework has spanned multiple industries including health care, consumer products, entertainment, and extractive activities; and she has assisted with litigation matters involving the application of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Before joining Analysis Group, Ms. Rutzen was a postgraduate technical assistant at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
