Summary of Experience

Dr. Calcagno specializes in applying microeconomics to competition cases. He advises clients on matters including mergers and joint ventures, market studies and investigations, abuse of dominance, vertical and horizontal agreements, State aid, regulatory investigations, and private litigation. He has experience in a broad range of industries, including financial services, business services, professional services, retail, health care and pharmaceuticals, technology, consumer goods, media and communications, commodities, and transportation. Dr. Calcagno publishes regularly in international peer-reviewed academic journals, and is coauthor of the textbook Exclusionary Practices: The Economics of Monopolisation and Abuse of Dominance. He frequently speaks at competition policy events and is a guest lecturer at L.L.M., M.B.A., and other executive education programs. He is featured among the competition economists listed on Who’s Who Legal. Prior to joining Analysis Group, Dr. Calcagno was an associate director in the economics practice of KPMG. He is fluent in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
