Summary of Experience

Ms. Holmsten specializes in the application of economic and financial theory to questions arising in life insurance, securities and finance, antitrust, and energy litigation. Her case work has involved a range of issues, including assessments of breach of contract provisions in universal life insurance contracts, analyses of market manipulation in the foreign exchange (FX) and IBOR markets, and evaluations of the impact of alleged defamation and tortious interference in municipal bond markets. Ms. Holmsten has also analyzed automobile emissions testing data in connection with a litigation pertaining to alleged “defeat devices.” In her work on USA v. Richard Usher, et al., she analyzed FX trade and chat data, prepared academic experts for testimony at trial, and provided data analyses and consulting support to counsel during various stages of the litigation and trial process. Ms. Holmsten has also supported expert testimony in a number of bankruptcy and damages matters. In litigation matters related to the Lehman bankruptcy, she supported three economic experts opining on the impact and reasonableness of a collateral request.
