The Center for Research in Regulated Industries annual conference explores the latest developments in the telecommunications and energy industries. The three-day conference will include a session titled “Regulatory Initiatives Impacts,” during which Vice President Andrea Okie will present the paper “The Economic Impacts of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative on Nine Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States.” The paper summarizes a study conducted by a team of Analysis Group energy experts, including Ms. Okie, which found that regulating carbon emissions from power plants through market-based mechanisms goes hand-in-hand with economic benefits.
The report is the second prepared by the Analysis Group team. The prior analysis focused on the economic impacts of RGGI's first three years (2009-2011).
