For an ABA teleconference, Analysis Group Vice President Divya Mathur will moderate a discussion with a panel of experts on the role of consumer data in today’s digital economy through the lens of competition, consumer protection, and privacy. The panel, which includes Analysis Group affiliate Anindya Ghose from NYU’s Stern School of Business, will discuss high-stakes issues associated with digital platforms, such as determining the value of digital consumer data; alternatives for assigning ownership of the data; the question of whether data should be regulated as an essential facility; and the impact of network effects, switching costs, and economies of scale in digital markets.
