Analysis Group Senior Advisor Susan Tierney Invited to Join National Academy of Sciences Committee on Climate Change

The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine have selected Analysis Group Senior Advisor Susan F. Tierney to serve on the Advisory Committee for their Climate Communications Initiative. The Initiative is a major undertaking by the Academies intended to facilitate rapid and effective communication of evidence-based studies related to climate change, in order to address public questions on the topic and provide easy access to scientifically grounded material.
Dr. Tierney is an expert on energy policy and economics, specializing in the electric and gas industries. She has consulted extensively to private-sector companies, governments, nonprofits, and other organizations on energy markets, as well as on economic and environmental regulation and strategy. Dr. Tierney also chairs the External Advisory Board of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, is a director of the World Resources Institute, and serves on other boards. A former Assistant Secretary for Policy at the US Department of Energy, state cabinet officer for environmental affairs, and state public utility commissioner, Dr. Tierney is a visible and effective advocate for energy and climate policy grounded on sound economic principles and strong technical evidence. She has published widely, frequently speaks at industry conferences, and has lectured at many leading universities.
