ASHEcon Profiles Manager Yao Lu on Careers in Health Economics Consulting
December 07, 2018
When facing graduation after years in an academic setting, selecting the right career path can be daunting. In a recent American Society of Health Economists (ASHEcon) profile, Analysis Group Manager Yao Lu describes her choice to join an economics consulting firm over remaining in academia after obtaining her Ph.D.
In graduate school, Dr. Lu was consistently drawn to policy-relevant topics as a way to apply her academic training to real-world challenges. This self-motivation pairs well with the challenging and meaningful health care and antitrust cases she chooses to work on now. Dr. Lu also shares insights on Analysis Group's fast-paced, team-oriented work environment; opportunities to follow a self-directed career path; and the ability to use a broad set of both technical and soft skills.
