Managing Principal James Signorovitch Wins Award for Research Presentation at ISPOR Europe 2018
November 29, 2018
Analysis Group Managing Principal James Signorovitch has been recognized with the Best General Research Podium Presentation Award for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) presented at the ISPOR Europe 2018 meeting in Barcelona. The award recognizes outstanding research exhibitions, measured by a variety of criteria that include research design, transparency, and clarity of presentation.
The team led by Dr. Signorovitch – which included Manager Gautam Sajeev and Senior Analyst Zhiwen Yao, as well as Drs. Keith Abrams, Francesco Muntoni, and Susan J. Ward – presented “Ambulatory function in Duchenne muscular dystrophy: the characteristic trajectory and variation across individuals.” The project examined heterogeneity in the rates at which individuals suffering from DMD, a type of muscular dystrophy marked by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness, lost ambulatory function. Among the team's findings was that, despite individual variations, this ambulatory loss follows common patterns.
The research for the presentation was undertaken within the collaborative Trajectory Analysis Project (cTAP), a pre-competitive collaboration of drug developers, clinical experts and registries, patient advocacy groups, and data scientists engaged in research to improve drug evaluations for DMD.
