Managing Principal Rebecca Kirk Fair Speaks About Empowering Female Coworkers at MIT Sloan Global Women’s Conference

October 17, 2019

Managing Principal Rebecca Kirk Fair was one of three speakers on the “Fighting Unconscious Bias in the Quest for Authentic Leadership” panel at the 2019 MIT Sloan Global Women’s Conference held in New York City. During the panel, Ms. Kirk Fair, who holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, addressed the question of how women can work with their male colleagues to combat anti-female bias, and shared an example from her own experience.

In “3 career insights from the MIT Sloan Global Women’s Conference,” an online article published by MIT Sloan, Ms. Kirk Fair was quoted about the importance of empowering others and bringing men into the conversation about bias. “It’s on us to share it with the women behind us, but, importantly, also to share with the men around us at all levels.”

In a second article published by MIT Sloan about the event, “3 ways to combat gender bias in the workplace,” Ms. Kirk Fair again drew on her own experiences to suggest ways that younger female colleagues can present themselves effectively in male-dominated career settings.
