Managing Principal Lisa Pinheiro Speaks on the Role of Collaboration in Promoting ESG Goals at Responsible Investor USA 2023 Conference

Managing Principal Lisa Pinheiro participated in a panel titled “Will antitrust kill collective engagement?” at the Responsible Investor USA 2023 conference in New York City, which provided a platform for a varied array of contributors to share insights into key sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues relevant to sustainable finance professionals. She was joined by co-panelists Sarah Bernstein (Meketa Investment Group), Denise Hearn (Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment), and John Hoeppner (LGIM America), as well as moderator Jérôme Tagger (Preventable Surprises).

Ms. Pinheiro’s discussion centered on the importance of looking beyond market forces to address pollution’s negative climate and consumer welfare impacts. She presented collaboration – namely, among corporations and governments – as a key tool to promote consumer wellbeing, sustainable investment, and the transition to a clean energy economy. In addition, Ms. Pinheiro explored the importance of taking into account consumer welfare when evaluating the impacts of policies aimed at promoting clean energy.
