Summary of Experience

Dr. Popiel is an economist specializing in the application of statistical analysis and economic theory to complex litigation matters, with particular expertise in the areas of finance, antitrust, and commercial disputes, among others. His case work experience includes performing econometric analyses of alleged manipulation of market prices and benchmark interest rates, and conducting macroeconomic forecasting and modeling in both litigation and non-litigation matters. Dr. Popiel has analyzed survey data and financial instrument option pricing. He has published his research on interest rate dynamics, fiscal policy uncertainty, the effects of unconventional monetary policy, and the relationship between economic conditions and voting preferences, and presented at various academic conferences. Prior to joining Analysis Group, Dr. Popiel taught econometrics at Queen’s University.
