Senior Advisor Susan Tierney Provides Recommendations for Achieving Net-Zero Emissions in Electrify This! Podcast

Analysis Group Senior Advisor Susan F. Tierney appeared on Energy Innovation Policy & Technology’s Electrify This! podcast to discuss how the US can cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions more quickly this decade to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. Speaking with host Sara Baldwin, Dr. Tierney and Dr. Ed Rightor – both coauthors of a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine report titled Accelerating Decarbonization in the United States: Technology, Policy, and Societal Dimensions – provided recommendations for how the US can improve electrification to achieve a fair and equitable transition to a net-zero economy. They also described the economic and health benefits associated with reducing GHG emissions and outlined actions that policymakers can take to accelerate decarbonization.
