Senior Business Analytics Analyst, Boston
- What are your primary responsibilities, and what types of projects do you work on?
- I play a key role in analyzing and reporting the company’s financial performance. The projects I work on include the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes for all departments, reporting the firm’s utilization and overall month-over-month performance, managing financial trends, and conducting rate analyses.
- What was your onboarding experience like?
- My manager and team did an excellent job providing relevant information that helped me gain a strong understanding of AG. And the support extended beyond day one – they ensured I felt confident and capable before fully transitioning into my responsibilities. This is something I truly value about AG: Everyone is accessible and the shared goal is for everyone to succeed.
- Can you share a memorable experience or project that illustrates your role’s impact within the firm? How does it support the broader operations and success of the firm?
- A recent project I worked on involved budgeting and reporting the firm’s actual revenue and expenses. I collaborated with departments such as DE&I, Marketing, Recruiting, IT, and Business Operations to calculate their projected annual spending, and I worked closely with the HR department to obtain projected headcount data to ensure accurate budget forecasting.
My work ensures full transparency regarding the firm’s growth and overall performance. It helps determine whether we are meeting our targets and identifies strategies to bridge gaps and stay aligned with our goals. Additionally, my analysis highlights business performance across the firm and ensures employees are being effectively utilized. - What opportunities for learning, growth, or professional development have you experienced in your role?
- I’ve become more comfortable asking tough questions and embracing ambiguity. Because my work relies heavily on assumptions and incomplete information, I have learned to analyze trends and model realistic scenarios that align with company performance. This has significantly strengthened my analytical skills and my ability to use data to tell a compelling story.
- How would you describe the atmosphere in your office?
- The atmosphere in my office is warm and inviting. People operate with an open-door policy, making it easy to reach out and discuss any challenges or roadblocks. The various floors have tables and meeting spaces which encourage collaboration and make meetings feel engaging and welcoming. We also enjoy the opportunity to eat together three times a week.
- What makes the AG community unique?
- Everyone genuinely cares. No one operates in isolation, we truly function as one team. Whenever I reach out to someone with a question, they go beyond to ensure I feel supported and clear on next steps.
- What are your favorite activities or hobbies outside of work?
- Outside of work, I fully disconnect and enjoy spending quality time with my family. I enjoy sports such as soccer and football, and I prioritize working out three to four times a week. On days when I feel overwhelmed or stuck on a project, I take walks. This helps me reset and refocus. I love to travel, and I am also a strong believer in meditation and regularly take time to re-center myself.
