Analysis Group Congratulates Amol Navathe on Appointment as Chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission

Analysis Group congratulates Dr. Amol S Navathe on his appointment as chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC). His three-year appointment was announced in May 2026.
Dr. Navathe is a health economist and a staff physician at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He specializes in the design and evaluation of health care payment and reimbursement models, health plan coverage, and medical service and prescription drug pricing, among other topics. Dr. Navathe’s research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on topics such as machine learning and health care decision-making, improving the accuracy of risk adjustments, understanding the impact of value-based care and other payment models, and designing physician incentives to deliver high-value care.
MedPAC is an independent agency that provides the US Congress with analysis and policy advice on issues affecting the Medicare program.
