Analysis Group Experts to Guest Edit Obesity-Themed Issue of PharmacoEconomics

July 9, 2026

The treatment landscape for obesity is rapidly changing. While GLP-1 medications have generated significant public interest, important questions have been raised about their long-term effectiveness, affordability, and accessibility. Simultaneously, digital health tools, behavioral modification techniques, and surgical options have attracted attention as complements or alternatives to pharmacologic intervention.

A forthcoming issue of PharmacoEconomics on obesity will be guest edited by Managing Principal Noam Kirson and affiliate Professor John Cawley. The journal invites health care economists, outcomes researchers, payers, providers, and decision makers to submit original research, reviews, opinion pieces, or policy analyses for publication.

Topics of interest include:

  • Trends in obesity prevalence
  • Obesity-associated disease burden
  • Medication reimbursement, pricing, and access
  • Long-term disease and economic modeling
  • Real-world evidence (RWE) on treatment patterns and outcomes
  • Equity and ethical considerations

Abstracts are due to the publisher no later than September 30, 2026.
