With NBER Sponsorship, Analysis Group Strengthens Commitment to Academic Research

October 8, 2025

Analysis Group is pleased to announce a new engagement with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) as it becomes the first economic consulting firm in the nonprofit’s Corporate Associate program. The program supports the NBER’s research on current and emerging economic issues, including corporate finance, health economics, industrial organization, international trade, and labor studies.

“AG shares the NBER’s commitment to the presentation of impartial and unbiased research based on rigorous methods and data to advance thought leadership,” said Analysis Group CEO Pierre Cremieux. “With this partnership, the NBER can continue to support independent research and share its findings with public policymakers, business professionals, and the academic community, while maintaining its strict commitment to bipartisanship.”

Founded in 1920, the NBER includes more than 1,800 affiliated academic economists and publishes more than 1,200 working papers annually. As a corporate associate, Analysis Group will be invited to send representatives to the NBER’s annual Corporate Associates Research Symposium, where NBER-affiliated researchers, some of whom are also Analysis Group affiliates, present their recent work.

Corporate associates have “always been a key resource for the NBER, and in this period of volatile federal research support, they are even more important,” according to Dr. James Poterba, the NBER’s CEO. “Corporate associates also play a valuable role in highlighting emerging issues that warrant greater attention in the NBER’s research program, and I always appreciate their input and perspectives.”

Along with its corporate associates, the NBER receives support from the federal government, including the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, a range of private foundations, including the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the Gates Foundation, and individual donors.
