Summary of Experience

Professor Forbes has over 20 years of experience researching a wide variety of economic issues in antitrust, industrial organization, and organizational economics. Her work includes topics such as price and non-price competition, vertical relationships, cross-industry spillovers, contracting, disclosure regulations, and switching costs, in industries such as airlines, hospitality, health insurance, and manufacturing. Professor Forbes’ research has been published in a number of economics and management journals, including the American Economic Review, Management Science, the RAND Journal of Economics, the American Economic Journal, the Journal of Public Economics, The Journal of Industrial Economics, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, and The Journal of Law, Economics, & Organization. She is a coeditor of Economic Inquiry and associate editor at the Journal of Economics and Statistics. She has served on the editorial board of the Journal of the Air Transport Research Society and on the executive committee of the Society for Institutional & Organizational Economics. Prior to joining the Tufts faculty, she held faculty appointments at the University of California, San Diego and Case Western Reserve University. She has also been a visiting professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management and has worked as an economist at the US Department of Transportation. Professor Forbes has received grants and fellowships from the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the German National Merit Foundation.
