Summary of Experience
Ms. Brown has more than 30 years of experience in investment strategy and fiduciary oversight of defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plans. She specializes in defined contribution plans offered by corporations, health care providers, and higher education institutions and has provided expert witness testimony on issues related to ERISA and fiduciary decisions and oversight. As the former head of retirement strategy at Capital Group, Ms. Brown worked with institutional plan sponsors and was the lead subject matter expert on defined contribution. She served as the senior investment consultant on retirement plans at Mercer, where her responsibilities included developing a long-term strategy for retirement investing and serving as chair of the oversight committee for 3(38) discretionary defined contribution clients. Ms. Brown held a similar senior investment consultant position with Callan Associates, where she was responsible for retirement investment structure strategy and ongoing monitoring of investment returns, risks, and fees. Ms. Brown is currently a senior fellow at the Defined Contribution Institutional Investment Association Retirement Research Center and a member of the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement advisory committee. She is a CFA charterholder.
