Summary of Experience
Mr. Grant provides advisory services, privileged consulting, and expert witness testimony, both domestic and international, for energy clients and their counsel. He specializes in matters of competitive analysis, valuation, antitrust, and market design. Mr. Grant has analyzed market structure, firm behavior, and competition in the energy industry, including oil, natural gas, and thermal and renewable power, and advised on climate-related risk factors and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks. He has submitted testimony related to the value of hydrocarbons, damages stemming from contractual disputes, and liability arising from treaty claims; advised on antitrust matters; and led teams in complex energy-related matters, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory proceedings, and disputes. Mr. Grant’s recent efforts have focused on valuation of energy, large manufacturing, and public infrastructure assets in emerging markets. He has published articles in journals such as Accounting Today, Global Banking & Finance Review, and the Energy Law Journal. Mr. Grant has previously served as an instructor for the Harvard Institute for International Development, where he taught cost-benefit analysis, project analysis, and microeconomics to officials from utilities, regulatory agencies, and economic development banks in the developing world. He was also a research fellow and research affiliate at Harvard University’s Project on Indigenous Governance and Economic Development, where he analyzed national and tribal policies related to self-governance and economic development.
