Chasom Brown, et al. v. Google LLC

Analysis Group was retained on behalf of Google, the defendant in a class action litigation involving the company’s collection of user data to personalize advertisements. Teams led by Managing Principals Brad Rice and Mihran Yenikomshian, Principals Hristina Bojadzieva Bartlett and Laura O’Laughlin, and Vice Presidents Benjamin March and Haimin Zhang supported three experts, all of whom filed reports and testified at deposition:

  • Professor Georgios Zervas served as a technical expert, opining on the information collection and technical aspects of the data.
  • Professor On Amir served as a survey expert, opining on user expectations of privacy.
  • Analysis Group Senior Advisor Bruce Strombom opined on class certification and damages issues.

The motion to certify a damages class was denied, in part based on Professor Amir’s findings. The case subsequently settled.
