Summary of Experience
Professor Tufano’s research focuses on financial innovations, including the design of new securities and financial instruments; the organization of financial markets; corporate risk management; the mutual fund industry; household finance; and ESG and climate finance. A prolific author, he has written books, as well as articles published in leading journals such as The Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, The Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management, and Harvard Business Review. In addition, Professor Tufano has served as an associate editor for several publications, including The Journal of Finance, Financial Management, and the Journal of Financial Services Research. He is the recipient of several awards and honors, including the Smith Breeden Prize for the best paper published in The Journal of Finance and a leadership award from the Aspen Institute. He served as the dean of Oxford’s Saïd Business School for a decade.
