Summary of Experience

Mr. Sherwin specializes in applied microeconomics and finance. He has performed research and given testimony in more than 100 matters involving antitrust, tax, regulatory, intellectual property infringement, securities, capital adequacy, and commercial damages. His testimony has included cases related to estimation of damages in securities litigation. His testifying experience also includes such large-scale bankruptcies as Executive Life Insurance Co. and damages cases related to medical products. He has significant expertise analyzing high-technology markets, having served as an expert in such high-profile cases as Lotus v. Borland, Apple Computer v. Microsoft, and In re Clarent Corporation Securities Litigation. Mr. Sherwin's antitrust experience includes analysis of price-fixing, price discrimination, market definition, market power, monopolization, and damages. A Certified Public Accountant, he has written on the subject of market definition and has conducted numerous cost-based predatory pricing studies. Mr. Sherwin is a member of the American Economic Association and the American and Illinois Bar Associations.
