Analysis Group Announces Three Senior-Level Promotions

Analysis Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Rene Befurt and Joshua White to managing principal and Carletta Wong to principal.

New Managing Principals
Rene Befurt specializes in applying marketing research and survey methodologies to litigation and strategic business issues. He has extensive experience designing and implementing survey experiments, choice modeling, and conjoint analyses to assess consumer behavior. Dr. Befurt has served as an expert witness in matters involving patent infringement, trademark disputes, false advertising, product liability, and consumer disclosures, and has testified at deposition and trial. He has consulted to clients, including the US Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and leading multinational corporations across industries such as automotive manufacturing, technology, and consumer goods. His work includes designing survey instruments, analyzing complex survey data, and creating tools that use market simulations to help clients understand consumer preferences and market forces. He has also evaluated brand perception and consumer decision making to support expert testimony in litigation.
Joshua White is a consulting and testifying economist who specializes in applying microeconomics and econometrics to complex litigation and merger-related questions, primarily in matters involving the health care, financial services, and technology industries. He has supported clients in various jurisdictions, assessing overcharge, upstream and downstream pass-on, and volume effects. He has testified in the UK Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber), the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, and the Amsterdam District Court. Mr. White has supported companies in high profile mergers including Veolia/Suez, LVMH/Tiffany, Sika/MBCC, and Eutelsat/OneWeb. He has also provided evidence to the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the European Commission in mergers and cartel and abuse of dominance investigations. Mr. White has provided support to European financial and competition regulators in coordinated conduct investigations. He has supported scientific and technical testifying experts on competition and intellectual property issues in matters related to pharmaceutical products and FRAND licensing questions. He also regularly works with pharmaceutical clients on competition issues associated with market access, pricing, and denigration. Mr. White has worked in a number of jurisdictions around the world and has published in multiple journals, including the Journal of European Competition Law & Practice, the Competition Law Journal, and the Journal of Antitrust Enforcement. He regularly speaks at international competition law and policy conferences.
New Principal
Carletta Wong has experience applying expertise in economics and financial analysis to support experts in a variety of litigation and international arbitration matters, including those involving corporate transactions and governance, finance, accounting, antitrust, pharmaceutical reverse payments, commercially reasonable efforts, intellectual property and trade secrets, and government investigations of pharmaceutical clients. Her case work has spanned a broad range of industries, including health care, entertainment and media, telecommunications, finance, software and technology, real estate, and manufacturing. In several complex commercial disputes in the Delaware Chancery Court, Ms. Wong has led the support for teams of experts addressing valuation and damages, solvency, corporate governance, platform economics, and media and technology issues. She has extensive experience in cases involving M&A, including matters with controlling shareholder dynamics and material adverse change allegations. In addition to managing case teams supporting the preparation of complex and often interconnected expert reports, Ms. Wong consults to clients throughout the discovery process, as well as in mediation and preparation for deposition and trial.
