Managing Principal Judy Chang Joins Harvard Kennedy School Panel on the Global Climate Crisis

December 18, 2023

Managing Principal Judy Chang, also a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, took part in a panel discussion titled “The Climate Crisis: Alumni Talk Policy.” Joined by co-panelists and fellow Kennedy School alumni Jasdeep Randhawa (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat), Anne Kelly (Ceres), and Bill White (DEME Offshore US), as well as moderator Rob Werner (League of Conservation Voters), Ms. Chang discussed the importance of state-level leadership in achieving US greenhouse gas emission reduction goals. She also explored the challenges around implementing national and global climate goals, including strengthening the US electricity grid, which was not designed to accommodate the demand a cleaner energy system would require; financing sufficient investment in clean energy; building public support for clean energy infrastructure upgrades, as well as accounting for environmental justice concerns; and incentivizing the technology improvements needed to meet net-zero targets.
