Summary of Experience
Mr. Lefkowitz is an attorney, consultant, and data protection expert who specializes in data strategy, privacy, security, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He spent over 20 years as the lead data protection executive for multinational technology companies, advising executives and overseeing global teams responsible for security, privacy, and data risk management. Mr. Lefkowitz has navigated significant changes in data protection law and policy, including complex security, incident reporting, vulnerability management, and supply chain management requirements. He has engaged extensively with national cybersecurity agencies and privacy regulators and has advocated with EU and US legislators for balanced data protection regulation. Prior to founding the privacy and security consulting firm Amity Digital Risk, Mr. Lefkowitz was the chief security and trust officer at Citrix, where he directed product and system security and cyber incident command, and the chief privacy officer at Oracle and General Electric. He is a member of the board of directors of the Future of Privacy Forum and the former board chairman of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Mr. Lefkowitz also served on the Boston Bar Association Council and the board of advisors for Text IQ/Relativity. He has taught privacy law at Boston College Law School, given numerous talks on privacy and security, and been published in The New York Times.
