Summary of Experience
Professor Haugh is a corporate governance expert and former litigator whose research focuses on white collar and corporate crime, corporate compliance, business and behavioral ethics, and federal sentencing policy. He has published extensively on compliance and sentencing and testified as an expert witness on issues related to corporate compliance history and practice. Professor Haugh’s research has been published in law and business journals such as Northwestern University Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, the American Business Law Journal, and MIT Sloan Management Review. He is the coauthor of two business law– and corporate compliance–related textbooks and has contributed chapters to several legal reference books on compliance and corporate misconduct. Professor Haugh is regularly quoted in national news outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes. He is a former US Supreme Court Fellow; his previous legal experience also includes roles as a white-collar criminal defense attorney and member of the general counsel’s office of the US Sentencing Commission. Professor Haugh’s research and teaching accolades include the Holmes-Cardozo Award for Outstanding Paper, the Distinguished Early Career Achievement Award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, the Trustees Teaching Award from the Kelley School of Business, and a Jesse Fine Fellowship from the Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions, where he now serves as a board member.
