Summary of Experience

Dr. Mehta specializes in antitrust economics, merger analysis, and competition policy. She brings to her work deep experience in regulatory enforcement, having served for more than 15 years at the US Department of Justice Antitrust Division, most recently as economics director of enforcement. In that role, Dr. Mehta oversaw economic analysis across all merger and business-practice investigations and cases and advised senior leadership on enforcement strategy and decisions. During her tenure at the Antitrust Division, she played a leading role in some of its highest-profile investigations and litigation matters, including US v. Google, US v. Apple, and US v. AT&T. Before serving as director, Dr. Mehta spent a decade as an assistant chief and chief in the Economics Analysis Group, where she led teams of economists involved in prominent investigations and litigation matters across a range of industries and advised on the Antitrust Division’s empirical analysis. Dr. Mehta has presented at a number of meetings and institutions, including the Fordham University School of Law and the Brookings Institution. She has also served as an adjunct professor of economics at Johns Hopkins University.
