Professor Rossi specializes in fintech, household and personal finance, machine learning, and asset pricing, with a strong focus on leveraging advanced analytics to improve financial decision making. His research has included investigations of how robo-advisors can help individuals make better financial decisions and how machine learning can be used to predict stock market returns. Professor Rossi has contributed chapters to several books, including the Handbook of Financial Decision Making and Machine Learning in Financial Markets: A Guide to Contemporary Practice. His articles have appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, The Review of Financial Studies, and The Journal of Finance and been cited in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger, Forbes, and CNN. A prolific speaker, Professor Rossi has given keynote addresses and presented at numerous conferences. Earlier in his career, he was an associate professor at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and an economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Professor Rossi is a visiting fellow in economics studies at the Brookings Institution. He also serves on the Economic Advisory Committee at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is a member of the American Economic Association, the American Finance Association, and the European Finance Association.
